About Us
Sweet Dreams Publishing of MA is an affiliate of Modern Graphics, Inc. (MGI) of Weymouth, Massachusetts. MGI has been in business for over 40 years serving the largest publishers in the world. They specialize in the production of complex, large-scale books in the Education, Banking and Trade industries. Starting with draft manuscript from authors, they provide professional copyediting and proofreading services, custom cover and interior design layout, illustration services, and more. They take a title all the way to the final stage of printer-quality files for any printer or digital media of choice.

MGI has now expanded their services to the general public. Under the name of Sweet Dreams Publishing of Massachusetts, we offer all of these services and more to any individual who would like to publish independently.  We serve authors worldwide.

Sweet Dreams Publishing of Massachusetts is an independent publisher, helping authors publish a well-edited, designed, and bound book for major online and traditional marketplaces. We differ from self-publishing houses in that we do not allow our authors to walk by themselves through the complex web of getting published; rather we believe in putting together a comprehensive teamwork approach to produce the best book possible. Our authors retain 100% of their rights, enjoy generous royalties, and go through the process step-by-step with our team. Independent publishing means your name is the brand, your book is the product, and we run each title as its own business. Our authors will receive one-on-one support with Lisa Akoury-Ross, founder of SDP.  Lisa Akoury-Ross has been in this business for over 20 years serving some of the largest publishers in the medical, education and legal fields. She founded Sweet Dreams Publishing of MA to help the individual author, nationwide, independently publish their work quickly and cost-effectively.

“The trend we are seeing is that most traditional publishers are not taking a chance on new authors, rather keeping a mindful eye on well-selling titles—both traditional and non-traditional published titles. With the advancement of online marketing channels, like YouTube, personal websites, blogging sites, and online bookstores, we find that traditional publishers can no longer ignore some of the gems once overlooked through traditional methods of query letter and manuscript submission.

“In April of 2010, Publishers Weekly announced that over 760,000 titles were published by “non-traditional” methods in 2009, while traditional titles continue their steady decline.1

“If you have a great book to share with the world; if it’s well-edited, professionally designed, and has the marketing/publicity efforts behind it, you can become a successful published author.”
